Auf den Spuren der Ostbahn: Ein nahezu klassisches Institutsprojekt mit Seminar, Exkursion, Begegnungen und einer Wanderausstellung als Projektergebnis

On the traces of the Eastern Railways: A typical project of the Institute with seminar, field trip and an exhibition as the project outcome.

Working in projects

The Institute of Applied History achieves its goals through projects. These can be smaller events, like the Historical Salon in Schloss Trebnitz in the Oder Region, project seminars at the Europe-University Viadrina, animation films or long-term workshop series for pupils on topics like the Berlin Wall.

The projects are not necessarily connected by similar topics or formats but more through a “suitcase” of collected methods and approaches to history. Important methods of a project of the Institute are Oral History, field work within analysis of the city-scape, museums and memorial places and international cooerations as well as the public presentation of the projects ant their results as publications or events.

The Institute of Applied History implements its projects in cooperation with Partners. A wide network in Central and Eastern Europe is the result of ten years of activity.
