Since the summer of 2010 the Institute is home to a new study group focussed on Cultures of Memory in the countries of former Yugoslavia. The Institute is part of a large network of civil society initiatives and institutions based on the Western Balkan, specifically cooperating with the Malraux Center in Sarajevo, Documenta in Zagreb, the Youth Initiative for Human Rights in Bosnia-Hercegovina, the Youth Initiative for Human Rights in Serbia, the Theater Festival MESS in Sarajevo, the Multimedia Center in Pristina, and Loja Initiative in Tetovo. Working together with these partners, the Institute gathers and develops art-related and creative methods aimed at advancing a critical awareness of history and remembrance in Europe.
